# Best Crypto Leverage Trading Platforms in 2026, Ordered by the Cap and the Notional Behind It

The Leverage Ladder desk · Updated: 24 September 2026 · Tested: 22 September 2026

## The one line

The best crypto leverage trading platform is the one whose cap survives the size actually traded.
EVEDEX prints 200x on BTC, ETH and SOL to $50,000 of notional; Aster prints the same 200x to 400 USDT.
At 100x, one percent against a position takes the margin behind it.

Weights: Depth under the position 35 · Cost on the levered notional 25 · Where the fill is recorded 20 · What the record shows 15 · How far the ladder reaches 5. One formula for every plate on this site, fixed on 18 September 2026: https://aurascopeapp.com/method

## Best crypto leverage trading platform rankings, ordered by the ladder

Ordered by the documented BTC cap, and where two venues print the same one, by the notional it holds
to. A venue reaches this table by publishing that second figure: six do, and Lighter, Paradex, dYdX and
Aevo print a multiple with no band beneath it, which is a headline rather than a rung. No total is
printed in these rows. The formula never weighed a ladder, so its answer would run against this one
down the same page: the weights and the parts behind every total are tabled on [the method
plate](/method), and the six totals themselves are written out beside the same rungs on [the exchange
plate](/best-leverage-crypto-exchange).

| # | Venue | Leverage cap | Maker / taker | Perpetual markets | Model | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | EVEDEX | 200x to $50,000 | 0.015% / 0.045% | 52 | Hybrid | a top rung that holds at real size |
| 2 | Aster | 200x to 400 USDT | 0% / 0.040% | 578 | Own layer 1, operator-run | the same number on 125 times less notional |
| 3 | edgeX | 100x to $1 million | 0.040% / 0.045% | 172 | Hybrid | the widest usable range, deepest book |
| 4 | ApeX Omni | 100x to $100,000 | 0.020% / 0.050% | 125 | Hybrid | 100x with a documented exit |
| 5 | Extended | 50x to $4 million | 0% / 0.025% | 325 | Hybrid | a cap that survives into the millions |
| 6 | Hyperliquid | 40x to $150 million | 0.015% / 0.045% | 324 | On-chain order book | an eight-figure position at a cap that holds |

Venue terms read 18 September 2026; entry-tier fees on the BTC perpetual. The leverage column pairs the headline cap with the notional it holds to. No total is printed on this plate: a ladder is not one of the five things the formula weighs, and a column of totals falling while the row numbers climb asks a reader to believe two sequences at once. Every venue's total, with each criterion standing beside it, is tabled on the method plate: https://aurascopeapp.com/method

## 01 · EVEDEX
EVEDEX sizes every BTC rung rather than only the top one: 200x held to $50,000 of notional, 150x
to $75,000, 100x to $200,000, and 75x, 50x and 25x down to $716,000, where the table stops. ETH
and SOL read the same; a separate list puts XRP, gold, silver and crude oil at 100x, twenty-four
markets at 75x and eighteen more at 50x, shares and the index among them (EVEDEX trading terms,
checked 21 September 2026). Behind those rungs sits the second deepest book measured
here, $18.9 million of median resting depth inside 10 basis points, and a $10,000 taker
round trip that comes to $9.00 at 0.015% maker / 0.045% taker.

- For: The top rung holds to $50,000, where the other venue printing 200x stops at 400 USDT; Median BTC depth of $18.9 million, the second deepest book measured here.
- Against: 52 perpetual markets against hundreds on the widest venues here; No bug bounty listed on CertiK Skynet, read 18 September 2026; Positions reach Arbitrum in batches, and no operator-free withdrawal is documented; The BTC table is spent by $716,000 of notional, a size four venues on this plate still quote a rung at.
- Not for: a position past $716,000 of notional, where this table stops.

## 02 · [Aster](https://www.asterdex.com)
Aster prints 200x on BTC and honours it to 400 USDT of notional, after which the ladder falls to
150x at $300,000, 100x at $800,000 and 50x at $12 million
([Aster trading rules](https://www.asterdex.com/bapi/futures/v1/public/future/simple/symbols), checked 18 September 2026). Fees are 0% maker / 0.040% taker, maker
zero for every tier since February 2026, on a median book of $14.4 million.

- For: 578 perpetual markets, the longest list here, at zero maker fee; The tightest median spread we recorded on this plate, 0.01 bps.
- Against: The top rung covers 400 USDT of notional, which at 200x is a 2 USDT stake; Chain code and validator set are closed; no forced withdrawal is documented.
- Not for: anyone reading a headline cap as a size limit.

## 03 · [edgeX](https://pro.edgex.exchange)
edgeX tiers BTC by position value rather than printing one figure: 100x to $1 million, 75x to
$3 million, 50x to $5 million, 25x to $20 million
([edgeX metadata](https://edgex-prod-v2.edgex.exchange/api/v2/public/meta/getMetaData), checked 18 September 2026). Behind it sits the deepest book here, a
median $29.2 million within 10 basis points, where a $1 million order moved the price
0.22 bps.

- For: 100x holds to $1 million, twenty times any 200x rung here; A withdrawal can be pushed through the chain without the operator.
- Against: 0.040% maker fee, the highest here, and no bug bounty is published; 172 perpetual markets against 578 on the longest list here.
- Not for: makers at the entry tier.

## 04 · [ApeX Omni](https://omni.apex.exchange/)
ApeX Omni allows 100x on BTC inside $100,000 of position value, then adds one percent of initial
margin per further $100,000, to a $15 million ceiling
([ApeX Omni docs](https://apex-pro.gitbook.io/apex-pro/apex-omni/perpetual-contracts-open-interest-and-leverage), checked 18 September 2026). Collateral sits in zkLink contracts
and a withdrawal can be forced to layer 1, at 0.020% maker / 0.050% taker.

- For: A forced withdrawal to layer 1 is documented, so an outage strands nothing; The cap steps down by a stated amount, not off a cliff.
- Against: Median BTC depth of $1.8 million, thinnest of the venues above 50x; 0.050% taker fee, paid twice on the full notional.
- Not for: cost-sensitive takers.

## 05 · [Extended](https://extended.exchange/)
Extended's summary page advertises up to 100x leverage; the margin schedule underneath puts BTC at
50x for the first $4 million of position value, then 25x out to $8 million and 16.7x out to
$12 million
([Extended margin schedule](https://docs.extended.exchange/extended-resources/trading/crypto-markets/margin-schedule), checked 18 September 2026). The 100x belongs to a
currency pair. Fees are 0% maker / 0.025% taker.

- For: 50x holds to $4 million, the second longest reach on this plate; A public bug bounty up to $500,000, and no maker fee on any account.
- Against: The advertised 100x applies to a currency pair and not to BTC; 278 of its 325 markets are quoted on request, with no public book.
- Not for: anyone who picked the venue off its headline figure.

## 06 · [Hyperliquid](https://hyperliquid.xyz)
Hyperliquid prints the lowest headline number here and the one that reaches furthest: 40x on BTC
holds to $150 million of notional and only then halves to 20x
([Hyperliquid margin table](https://api.hyperliquid.xyz/info), checked 18 September 2026). On 22 September 2026 its
reported open interest stood at $8.7 billion, and the ladder rests on a median book of
$8.3 million charged at 0.015% maker / 0.045% taker.

- For: 40x holds to $150 million, three thousand times the reach of the top cap here; Open interest of $8.7 billion, and a bounty paying up to one million USDC.
- Against: The headline cap is the lowest of the six venues here; Its own vault lost about $4.9 million in November 2025 and $4 million in March 2025.
- Not for: a small account chasing the highest multiple.

## Measured at the book

BTC perpetual books read on a ten-minute cycle that ran the length of 22 September 2026; medians of all reads.
| Venue | $10,000 round trip | Median spread | Median depth, 10 bps | Impact, $100,000 | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EVEDEX | $9.00 | 4.12 bps | $18.9 million | 2.06 bps | 121 |
| Aster | $8.00 | 0.01 bps | $14.4 million | 0.56 bps | 121 |
| edgeX | $9.00 | 0.04 bps | $29.2 million | 0.02 bps | 121 |
| ApeX Omni | $10.00 | 0.65 bps | $1.8 million | 0.37 bps | 121 |
| Extended | $5.00 | 0.12 bps | $7.7 million | 0.06 bps | 93 |
| Hyperliquid | $9.00 | 0.12 bps | $8.3 million | 0.06 bps | 121 |

## Where a cap has nothing behind it

Four venues with a published BTC cap are absent from the rows above, and one sentence explains all
four. Lighter sets a two percent initial margin and prints no notional tiers. dYdX sets the same two
percent and prints none either. Paradex sets two percent with a position limit of 300 BTC and no
step in between. Aevo sets five percent with a position cap. Each gives a reader a multiple and
nothing to size it against.

That is the whole of the register this desk keeps. A cap permits size; a rung states the size, and
only the second can be ranked against another venue's. Where the size is missing the venue is named
in the text — as it is here — and left off the ladder, because putting it on would mean guessing the
figure its own margin schedule declines to print.

## What was read, and what was measured

The weights came first: five criteria set down on 18 September 2026, unmoved since, scoring
6 venues here, printed on [the method plate](/method). Then the reading. Ladders, rungs,
fees, market counts, audits and bounty pages come off each venue's own terms on
18 September 2026. Depth, spread and impact are ours, off the BTC books over the dated window.
Nothing here was traded into.

Take the ladder first: a rung is a snapshot of an ordinary day, cut when volatility rises and put
back unannounced. The depth behind it was read on BTC alone, so a thinner pair holds less. Fees are
the new-account rate, with volume discounts, rebates and cashback left out. Settlement and the record
rest on documents and public incident reports, not on watching. Placement here is paid for; the
weights were fixed before any venue was read.

## FAQ

### What is the highest leverage crypto exchange?

Two venues here print 200x on BTC, and the figure only means something with a size attached: one
holds it to $50,000 of notional, the other to 400 USDT. Measured by the position a cap survives,
Hyperliquid answers it, holding 40x to $150 million.

### Is 100x leverage a good idea?

At a hundred times margin the maintenance level sits roughly one percent from entry, and a BTC
perpetual covers that range several times in an ordinary session. Fees are charged on the whole
notional, so a nine basis point round trip is nine percent of the margin.

### What does 200x leverage actually mean?

A position worth two hundred times the margin behind it, and it always arrives with a size limit.
On the venues here that print it the limit is $50,000 of notional in one case and 400 USDT in the
other, both from published margin schedules.

### How much can the price move before you get liquidated at 100x?

Roughly one percent against the position, and less in practice. Maintenance margin is typically
about half the initial requirement, the taker fee on entry is already deducted, and funding is
charged while the position is open. Each moves the liquidation price closer.

### Which crypto exchange has the lowest fees for leverage trading?

Extended charges 0% maker / 0.025% taker on one flat schedule, so a $10,000 taker round trip costs
$5.00, the cheapest here. Aster pays no maker fee either. Fees scale with the
levered notional, so the five basis point gap between the cheapest and dearest round trip here
widens with every rung.

### Can you trade with leverage without KYC?

Every venue on this plate opens an account from a wallet signature rather than a document check,
and several accept an email login. That is not the same as no rules: terms exclude various places,
some venues screen deposits on-chain, and access can be withdrawn.

### Why does my leverage drop when I increase position size?

Because the cap is a ladder, not a setting. Each venue names the largest position that still
qualifies for a multiple and lowers the multiple above it, so an account can open at 100x and be
held to 50x one rung later, as the table above shows.

### Does leverage increase trading fees?

Yes, in the only way that matters. The fee is charged on the position and not on the margin, so at
a hundred times margin a nine basis point round trip is nine percent of the money behind the
trade, before any funding is paid.

### What happens to a leveraged position during an exchange outage?

It stays open and cannot be managed, which is why custody carries twenty of the hundred points
here. The June 2026 flash crash in edgeX's own token forced liquidations on its markets, and the
compensation that followed was capped at 100,000 USDC a user, by a secondary account of it.

### Is 200x leverage available on all pairs?

No. Where 200x exists it is restricted to the largest markets and to small positions. On the venue
leading this plate it covers BTC, ETH and SOL to $50,000 of notional, with 100x on four further
markets and lower rungs on the rest.
