# Hyperliquid Alternatives for Higher Leverage in 2026, Ordered by the Book You Land In

The Leverage Ladder desk · Updated: 24 September 2026 · Tested: 22 September 2026

## The one line

Hyperliquid carries $8.7 billion of open interest and caps BTC at 40x. Ordered by measured
depth, the Hyperliquid alternatives for higher leverage run from edgeX at $29.2 million of
resting depth to ApeX Omni at $1.8 million. At 200x, liquidation is half a percent away.

Weights: Depth under the position 35 · Cost on the levered notional 25 · Where the fill is recorded 20 · What the record shows 15 · How far the ladder reaches 5. One formula for every plate on this site, fixed on 18 September 2026: https://aurascopeapp.com/method

## Hyperliquid alternatives for higher leverage, in order of measured depth

Five venues capping BTC above the 40x being left, ordered by the median depth resting within
10 basis points of the mid on their BTC books. The venue being left publishes both halves of a rung —
40x, and the $150 million it holds to — so an alternative is only listed here when it publishes both
as well. Lighter, Paradex and dYdX document a higher multiple and no step where it gives way, which answers a
different question than this page asks.

Read the totals in the score column as a second opinion rather than as the sequence: the weighted score
puts Extended first of these five at 4.51 out of six, and depth leaves
it in row 4. The rows answer where the book is, the column answers what the
formula made of the whole venue.

| # | Venue | Leverage cap | Score of 6 | Maker / taker | Perpetual markets | Model | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | edgeX | 100x to $1 million | 4.50 | 0.040% / 0.045% | 172 | Hybrid | the deepest book here |
| 2 | EVEDEX | 200x to $50,000 | 3.82 | 0.015% / 0.045% | 52 | Hybrid | 200x, held to $50,000 |
| 3 | Aster | 200x to 400 USDT | 4.42 | 0% / 0.040% | 578 | Own layer 1, operator-run | the longest market list |
| 4 | Extended | 50x to $4 million | 4.51 | 0% / 0.025% | 325 | Hybrid | 50x that reaches four million |
| 5 | ApeX Omni | 100x to $100,000 | 3.90 | 0.020% / 0.050% | 125 | Hybrid | a forced exit to layer 1 |

Venue terms read 18 September 2026; entry-tier fees on the BTC perpetual. The leverage column pairs the headline cap with the notional it holds to.

## 01 · [edgeX](https://pro.edgex.exchange) — 4.50 of 6
100x on BTC for the first $1 million of position value, dropping to 75x by $3 million and to 50x
by $5 million ([edgeX metadata](https://edgex-prod-v2.edgex.exchange/api/v2/public/meta/getMetaData), checked 18 September 2026). Behind it, the deepest book
we read and $635.5 million of open interest on 22 September 2026.

- For: Risk tiers are published by position value, not as one number; A withdrawal can be forced through the chain without the operator.
- Against: 0.040% maker fee, and no public bug bounty; An EDGE crash in June 2026 triggered liquidations; payments were capped at 100,000 USDC per user.
- Not for: makers, who pay nothing at two venues below.

## 02 · EVEDEX — 3.82 of 6
EVEDEX attaches a size to every BTC rung instead of only the headline: 200x as far as $50,000 of
notional, 150x to $75,000, 100x to $200,000, and 75x, 50x and 25x down to $716,000. ETH and SOL
share that table; XRP, gold, silver and crude oil sit at 100x and the rest of the list at 75x or
50x (EVEDEX trading terms, checked 21 September 2026). Fees are 0.015% maker / 0.045% taker,
the entry tier Hyperliquid also charges.

- For: The top rung is printed with the notional it holds to, not as a bare multiple; Second deepest book here, behind edgeX alone.
- Against: 52 perpetual markets against 324 at the venue being left; No bug bounty listed on CertiK Skynet, read 18 September 2026; Positions reach Arbitrum in batches, with no operator-free withdrawal documented; The BTC table ends at $716,000 of notional, against $150 million at the venue being left.
- Not for: a position past $716,000 of notional, where the published sizing stops.

## 03 · [Aster](https://www.asterdex.com) — 4.42 of 6
200x on BTC in order-book mode, honoured to 400 USDT of notional, then 150x to $300,000 and 100x to
$800,000 ([Aster trading rules](https://www.asterdex.com/bapi/futures/v1/public/future/simple/symbols), checked 18 September 2026). It holds the largest open
interest here, $1.4 billion on 22 September 2026.

- For: 578 perpetual markets, more than the venue being left, at no maker fee; The tightest spread on this plate, 0.01 bps.
- Against: The top bracket holds for 400 USDT, after which the cap is 150x; Chain code is closed and no forced withdrawal is documented.
- Not for: sizing from the front page rather than from the bracket table.

## 04 · [Extended](https://extended.exchange/) — 4.51 of 6
The margin schedule holds BTC at 50x while a position stays under $4 million of value, 25x under
$8 million and 16.7x under $12 million
([Extended margin schedule](https://docs.extended.exchange/extended-resources/trading/crypto-markets/margin-schedule), checked 18 September 2026). The advertised 100x belongs
to a currency pair.

- For: 50x holds to $4 million, the furthest reach of any cap above 40x here; A public bug bounty up to $500,000, and no maker fee.
- Against: The advertised 100x applies to a currency pair, not to BTC; 278 of its 325 markets are quoted on request, with no public book.
- Not for: a trader who needs a public book on the pair being traded.

## 05 · [ApeX Omni](https://omni.apex.exchange/) — 3.90 of 6
100x on BTC inside $100,000 of position value, then a point of initial margin per further $100,000,
to a $15 million ceiling ([ApeX Omni docs](https://apex-pro.gitbook.io/apex-pro/apex-omni/perpetual-contracts-open-interest-and-leverage), checked 18 September 2026). Collateral
sits in zkLink contracts.

- For: A withdrawal can be forced to layer 1, so an outage strands nothing; The cap steps down by a stated amount, not off a rung.
- Against: 0.050% taker, paid twice on the levered notional; One margin pool covers every perpetual, so one loss pulls on the rest.
- Not for: an exit measured in millions.

## Measured at the book

The column that sets the order on this page. On 22 September 2026 each BTC perpetual
book was read once every ten minutes, and what stands below is the median of the reads that came back.
In that same pass the book being left held $8.3 million, which three venues here beat.
| Venue | $10,000 round trip | Median spread | Median depth, 10 bps | Impact, $100,000 | Reads |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| edgeX | $9.00 | 0.04 bps | $29.2 million | 0.02 bps | 121 |
| EVEDEX | $9.00 | 4.12 bps | $18.9 million | 2.06 bps | 121 |
| Aster | $8.00 | 0.01 bps | $14.4 million | 0.56 bps | 121 |
| Extended | $5.00 | 0.12 bps | $7.7 million | 0.06 bps | 93 |
| ApeX Omni | $10.00 | 0.65 bps | $1.8 million | 0.37 bps | 121 |

## The venue that is being left

Hyperliquid records every order, cancellation, trade and liquidation on its own chain
([Hyperliquid documentation](https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/about-hyperliquid.md), checked 18 September 2026). It lists
324 perpetual markets and caps BTC at 40x to $150 million of notional, 20x
above that — a multiple and a size, which is what a rung is. Every venue ranked below documents a
higher multiple and states its own size. Aevo stops at 20x, under the cap being left. Lighter,
Paradex and dYdX go higher and publish no step at all, so a reader swapping one venue for another
would be trading a stated ceiling for an unstated one.

What a move gives up is scale, not the top of the book. CoinMarketCap published
$8.7 billion of open interest and $13.4 billion of turnover on
22 September 2026, against $1.4 billion at the largest venue here. Its BTC book held a median
$8.3 million over the same window, deeper than two of the five below and thinner
than three. Its own vault lost about $4.9 million in November 2025 and $4 million in March 2025.

## What was read, and what was measured

Five criteria fixed on 18 September 2026, applied to the 5 venues that cap BTC above
40x and publish the notional that cap holds to ([the formula](/method)). Caps, tiers, fees and market counts come from each venue's own
margin schedule, read on 18 September 2026. Open interest and turnover are each venue's own figure as
published by CoinMarketCap on 22 September 2026. Depth and spread are ours; no accounts opened, no orders
placed.

One pair, one window: one day of BTC reads says nothing about a thin market or a volatile night,
and a cap cut in one is restored without notice. Open interest is self-reported. This site takes
payment for placement; the order comes from the measured depth beside every row.

## FAQ

### What is the maximum leverage on Hyperliquid?

Forty times margin on BTC, held to $150 million of notional, above which the margin table halves it
to 20x, read from that table on 18 September 2026. Other markets sit lower. It is the longest reach
of any cap here.

### Which exchanges are similar to Hyperliquid?

Order-book venues where a wallet signature opens an account and perpetuals settle on a chain. The
five ranked here are edgeX, EVEDEX, Aster, Extended and ApeX Omni. They differ in the notional a
cap holds to and in the book behind it, and each of them publishes the first figure.

### Why does Hyperliquid cap Bitcoin at 40x?

The documentation does not say, but the shape is familiar. Maintenance margin at the top rung is
half the initial requirement, so a position there is liquidated about 1.25 percent from entry. A
higher cap would put that distance inside ordinary noise.

### Is there a perp DEX with higher leverage than Hyperliquid?

All five ranked here document more: 200x on two of them, 100x on two and 50x on one. Each carries
a notional limit of its own, and the largest of those is $4 million at Extended, against
$150 million at the cap being left.

### Does higher leverage mean a worse order book?

Not reliably. The deepest book measured here, at edgeX, carries a 100x cap, and the thinnest, at
ApeX Omni, carries the same 100x. Neither number says anything at all about the book underneath
it, which is exactly why this plate is sorted by the book.

### What is open interest and why does it matter?

The dollar value of positions currently open on a venue, and a measure of how much it can absorb
when a large position closes. On 22 September 2026 CoinMarketCap published $8.7 billion for
Hyperliquid and $1.4 billion for the largest venue here.

### Can I move a position from one perp DEX to another?

No. A perpetual is a contract with one venue, so the position is closed on the first and opened
again on the second, paying two spreads and two taker fees. That round trip is the real price of a
higher cap.

### Which perp DEX has the deepest Bitcoin order book?

Of the five ranked here, edgeX, at a median $29.2 million resting within 10 basis points of
the mid on 22 September 2026. EVEDEX followed at $18.9 million and Aster at
$14.4 million. Reads were taken every ten minutes, not continuously.

### Is Hyperliquid's cap the same on every market?

No. The margin table sets a cap for each market and the 40x on BTC is the top of it, while smaller
markets sit at 20x, 10x or lower. The same holds everywhere here. A cap belongs to a market, not a
venue.

### What should I check before switching perpetual exchanges?

Four things, in this order. The notional the cap holds to, the resting depth on the pair traded, the
taker fee charged twice on the levered notional, and whether a withdrawal can be made without the
operator. Only the second has to be measured.
